A medical office located in Pensacola is in need of a full-time Appointment Desk Scheduler to join their team.  Check out the description below to see if this position sounds like a great fit for you!


You Enjoy:

*Managing the appointment scheduling department of three to five staff members

*Answering incoming calls demonstrating proper telephone skills

*Accurately scheduling appointments using standard operating procedures and those unique to each physician

*Reviewing the schedule daily for the remainder of the week and the following two weeks.

*Modifying physicians’ daily schedules, block/open schedules as directed by the physicians

*Training and assisting with triage of phone calls to ensure appropriate scheduling

*Monitoring daily referrals and authorization process; ensure documents are filed appropriately in patient’s charts

*Opening the schedule for future years in a timely manner

*Monitoring the patient recall system

*Monitoring rescheduled patients at all locations to ensure timely rescheduling

*Monitoring schedule changes to ensure compliance with physicians’ requested schedule changes, i.e. no overbooks

*Ensuring appropriate documentation of patient comments in practice management system

*Staying abreast of insurance updates and cards

*Ensuring positive customer service atmosphere and interactions with all departments

*Promoting teamwork through collaboration

You Are:

*Great on phone and in person with strong customer service skills

*Organizational skills with attention to detail

*Strong at appointment setting and schedule coordinating

*Able to work as a team member.

*Able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

*Empathetic- giving attention to patients’ needs and concerns.

*Computer proficient

*Able Type 40 cwpm

*Able to remain calm and professional, regardless of intensity of workload or time constraints

*Able to work with staff members at all levels of the organization in a cooperative, team-oriented manner


You Have:

*High school diploma or equivalent.

*Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent experience in medical practice preferred

*Thorough understanding of Ophthalmology preferred

*Strong computer skills desired

*Strong attention to detail


*Previous medical office experience required

*Must have excellent customer service skills and phone etiquette.

*Sense of urgency

*This is a tobacco-free office, so a nicotine screen is required.



Compensation and Schedule

*This position is full-time and pay is depending on experience   

*Hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00am-5:00pm


Assignment Type:

*This assignment is considered Contract-to-Direct, meaning you will remain on Landrum’s payroll for at least 15 weeks. Once the 15 weeks is over, your employer can elect to bring you onto their payroll or extend the assignment out longer through Landrum.
