*Working with basic Level I IS knowledge in the support and repair of desktop computers. Receiving a significantly elevated number of support telephone calls and assists staff with technical support of desktop computers, applications, and related technology.
*Support includes specification, installation, and testing of computer systems and peripherals.
*Completing activities that require interaction with various hardware, application software and operating systems to diagnose and resolve unique technical problems.
*Utilizes one-on-one consultancy to end users staff.
*Training and engaging in an apprenticeship with senior IT Administrators
*Assisting staff with the installation, configuration, and ongoing usability of desktop computers and peripheral equipment
*Working with vendor support contacts to resolve technical problems
*Working with Help Desk and Network Operations staff as appropriate to determine and resolve problems received from clients
*Operating within Microsoft OS platforms in a multi-layered client server environment.
*Ensuring desktop computers interconnect seamlessly with diverse systems including associated validation systems, file servers, email servers, computer conferencing systems, application servers and administrative systems
*Assisting in maintaining LAN wiring plant, records thereof and as appropriate, telephone systems cable
*Assisting in maintaining computer inventory
*Transporting computer hardware between offices and storage warehouses
*Responding to and address all System Action notices in a timely manner
*Assisting other department personnel with general requests for service and help, i.e. Field questions and problems related MS Office suite of products and other desktop applications
*Professional with an attention to detail
*Highly motivated and intuitive about what needs to be done
*A great listener with a positive, can-do attitude
*Prefer CompTIA certifications, Associates Degree or related discipline but will consider graduation from high school or GED
*A strong aptitude for advanced learning in the field of Information Technologies.
*An understanding of the relationship between processes and policies; experience working in a team-oriented and collaborative environment.
*Knowledge of verbal and written communications; system analysis, project management, operating systems, personal computers, network systems; principles of systems documentation and programming; related government and business concepts.
Compensation and Schedule:
*This position is full-time and pays $15.58/hour
* Hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm (Maintain periodic rotational duty of 24x7 on-call availability, occasional after-hours and weekend work)
*This assignment is considered "Contract-to-Direct," meaning you will remain on LandrumHR's payroll for at least 15 weeks. Once the 15 weeks is over, your employer can either bring you onto your payroll or extend the period out longer through LandrumHR.
