*Locating, installing, cleaning, performing repairs and maintaining meters, boxes and other devices as necessary
*Checking to ensure meters are visible, correctly installed, functioning properly and accurately
*Reading utility meters, performing special readings and investigating customer complaints
*Writing/electronically generating service orders for meters
*Initiating and terminating water service as directed
*Reporting tampered and damaged meters to supervisor
*Checking accuracy of meters and reporting any defects
*Determining consistency of meter readings in the field, checking leaks and reporting any problems
*Removing and resetting water meters when service has been discontinued or renewed
*Performing cut-offs, cut-ons and posting members for delinquent accounts
*Performing minor field and shop maintenance repairs on meters
*Maintaining and performing minor repairs on fire hydrants, meters, backflow preventers, meter testing equipment and service lines.
*Replacing meters as needed and makes taps to install meters
*Other duties as assigned
*Highly motivated and intuitive with what needs to be done
*Reliable with a can do attitude
*Able to work in the outdoors through all weather conditions
*Bend, squat, twist, reach below waist, use hands for repetitive grasping and fine manipulation
Push/pull lift up to 30 lbs.
*Occasionally required to climb and reach above shoulders
*A high school diploma or GED
*A valid Florida driver license and clean driving record
Compensation and Schedule:
*This position is full-time and pay starts at $11.00/hour/ DOE
*Hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
*Paid Time off (PTO)
*Paid Company Holidays
*Paid Health Insurance for the family
*This assignment is considered “Contract-to-Direct,” meaning you will remain on LandrumHR’s payroll for at least 12 weeks. Once the 12 weeks is over, your employer can elect to bring you onto their payroll or extend the assignment out longer through LandrumHR.
